
Bhakti Center presents Kirtan Festival in honor of the divine appearance day of Sri Nityananda (the actual day is Feb. 20), the eternal associate of Sri Chaitanya, the divine incarnation of Sri Balarama, and the Adi Guru who most mercifully spreads the benediction of the Holy Name, the Bhakti Center presents a very special Thursday Night Kirtan featuring Gaura Gopal Das from the Radha Gopinath Temple in Chowpatty, Mumbai and many other special guest kirtaniyas.
Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting with roots going back many centuries in India. It is a primary practice on the path of Bhakti Yoga. The singing is accompanied by musical instruments and rhythmic drumming and the audience is encouraged to participate by chanting, clapping and dancing. In its heartfelt expression kirtan can induce profound states of meditation and bliss.
