This workshop will teach you how to play kartals and keep a simple beat during kirtan. Although oftentimes overlooked in kirtan, the kartals are an extremely important instrument that hold the musical beat of kirtan together. Elements of the workshop will include:
- How to keep a steady tempo
- How to play at the proper volume (not too soft or too loud)
- Being attentive and following the kirtan leader
